SQUARE INCH PRICE

My rate is 4 cents per square inch for edge to edge quilting. This is an all over design covering your entire quilt in the same pattern, giving a lovely textured look. This type of quilting wears well.

MINIMUM FEE

My minimum fee is $65. If your square inches work out less than this, it will be rounded up to $65 to cover loading and set up.

BATTING

I stock batting on a roll, availability depends on type. I only use what is needed for your quilt and charge per linear inch. For example, if you have a 60″ x 80″ quilt, I would cut 66″ inches (smallest side + a 6″ margin) of the batting of your choice. Any leftovers will be returned to you.

Battings in stock at the moment are:

90% Wool / 10% Poly – 0.29 cents per linear inch. (Medium loft)

100 % Cotton – Warm and Natural – 0.51 cents per linear inch. (Low loft)

50% Wool / 50% Cotton – 0.55 cents per linear Inch – (Low loft)

For example wool/cotton batting for your 60×80 quilt would be 66 linear inches and cost $36.30

You are welcome to supply you own high quality batting.

THREAD

Thread is included in the quilting cost. I use a variety of cotton and poly cotton threads, depending on what suits your quilt.

QUILTING BY MAIL

Mailing your top and backing to me:

I live rurally in the Bay of Islands, Northland, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by NZ Post or Courier.

I’d recommend sending your materials packed to protect against possible moisture in transit. A bag inside a tough “Post It” bag is fine, or a box if you prefer. Make sure the package is securely taped and labelled clearly, and tracked. I will return your quilt to you (packed as above) via NZ Post. Once you’ve booked your quilt you’ll receive a delivery address.

I accept drop offs by arrangement only.

PAYMENT

After your quilt is complete, I will invoice you via email with banking details. I really appreciate timely payments as that enables me to get your project(s) back to you right away.
