What, it’s February?… um… March? Oooops…

This baby is one intimidating piece of machinery...

Wow, I think I’ve been abducted by aliens. They just put me back and ALL THIS TIME HAS PASSED! I’ve had a lot of cool things happen but right now I CAN’T REMEMBER any of them! That’s why I know it’s definitely aliens.
The first thing I see they’ve done is hide all my widget thingies to write and format this post with. Bum. Perhaps I should file this as “I’ve forgotten everything I’ve learned”. Where has my add media button gone? Oh, they’ve moved it. There it is. Oh, I need the “classic” wordpress thingy. Found that too.
So now I can show you this gorgeous picture of the biggest thing that’s happened lately. It’s so sparkly*+*+*. I’ve been waiting and it’s finally here! I can’t say enough nice things about the stork who got it here, thank you Quarryburn Quilting, you’re awesome!
I can now strain my brain even further by learning a whole new skill set based on the computer program Creative Studio 7. It has demo software so you can try it out.
The goal? To quilt fabulous quilts. The method? By computer.
Can I do it? YES! With practice. And that’s what I plan to do. Practice practice practice.
The machine is called a Gammill 26″ Statler Stitcher. This explains it much better than I can.
I’ve been planning this assault on the quilting world since August last year. It’s taken me to some fabulous places, (Adelaide for study at AMQF), and introduced me to some awesome folks. It will also take me to Minnesota to do an intensive Statler retreat pretty soon where it looks like I’ll be freezing my buns/coochie/balls off if the weather report is anything to go by. Which feels odd seeing as here in New Zealand we’ve had a drought and heatwave with temps at 30+ degrees C. Snowman, anyone?
So, just wondering, has anyone else noticed the weather’s a bit wonky, or is it just me?

Bye for now,
quiltingoctopus

PS I’m not sorry about the potty mouth, it’s been a long week.
